Vehicle Registration
This is intended to supply
you with general information and may not apply to your particular local
laws. Please check with your local DMV office before ordering to find out
your particular registration requirements. We do not accept returns if you
are required to register your item and cannot.
Mopeds
All states require you to
register any mopeds higher than 50cc that you intend to use on the
public streets. 50cc mopeds generally do not need to be registered.
A select few states require
you to register ANY vehicle if you intend to use it on the public streets
no matter what the engine size is. Please contact your local DMV to see if
you are in one of those states.
Other Vehicles
Most states do not
require you to register vehicles that you intend to use off-road. ATV's,
G-Kart's, Dirt Bikes, and scooters fall under this category. Electric
bicycles and electric mopeds with pedals are not required to be
registered. However there have been a couple of states that have required
some sort of registration for off-road vehicles. Please contact your local
DMV and see if you are in one of those states.
Registration Paperwork
We will email you an invoice
and mail you an MSO/MCO (Manufacturers Certificate of Origin). In most
states this will be all you need to successfully register your item. We
don't collect sales tax for any state except Iowa. Your local DMV will
probably wish to collect sales tax when you register. If the paperwork we
send will not suffice for your local DMV office, do not place an order. We
cannot accept returns based on an inability to register your item.
Recommendations
We recommend that you keep it
simple. If you are not required to register your vehicle, then don't. Once
you register your vehicle you will need to pay sales tax and pay any tag
and title fees to your state. Once you have registered your vehicle you
will be required to pay tag renewal fees every year. |
